Friday Morning Update

"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him."

Lamentations 3:22-24

Well, the counts are in. Chase has 3,000 platelets. The nurse explained that this doesn't necessarily mean he got worse, but he didn't improve. The machine that reads the platelets isn't super exact, so he could be the very same as yesterday or even the day before.

The doctor said that Chase is going to start a treatment called IVIG. It is supposed to be much stronger than the steroids, but Chase will be given the steroids in conjunction with this treatment. It will be given over a period of several hours today. Provided this treatment works (we will know tomorrow morning again), we will be here about four days. Please pray that Chase will not have an adverse reaction to this treatment. This will be something that they will check for as they start the treatment.

We got the results right as our pastor finished praying with us. Thanks so much, Pastor Dennis, for coming to visit! We were greatly encouraged!

The Lord truly has given us quite a peace during this time despite the uncertainty of this situation. The doctor and nurses appear quite optimistic about Chase's recovery--it may just take a little while. We are still hoping and praying he will recover prior to the babies' arrival.

Thanks so much for your prayers. We will keep you posted.
